In a crucial game at the top of the table Town produced one of their most complete performances of the season to see off third placed Pembroke 4-0. The win takes Town to the top of the table on goal difference with the top two both having just one game left.
The first half saw Town dominate but fail to find the net despite creating a number of chances. Twice Pembroke cleared the ball off the line, Dean Bevis struck the post and Simon Nelmes shot wide when well placed.
On a rare Pembroke attack a close range header looked as though it had given the visitors a shock lead but keeper Glenn Craven dived to his right to make a wonderful save.
The second half saw Town continue to press forward but chances came and went with alarming regularity. Gary Hooker hit a great shot just wide and it started to look as though it wasn't going to be Town's day.
With Wilton's back four looking solid they had a great base to pille forward looking for the goal. Eventually Ian Pearce hit a long ball over the top and Ollie Smith reached it just before the Pembroke keeper to slide the ball home and spark great celebrations amongst the players.
Shortly afterwards Simon Nelmes hit the ball across goal and a Pembroke defender sliced the ball into the top corner to double Town's lead.
Dean Bevis then broke from half-way and calmly lifted the ball over the advancing keeper to make the score 3-0 and then Simon Nelmes hammered home a volley to give him a deserved goal and give Town the 4-0 win that their performance deserved.
